what to do in toronto storytelling festivalThe Toronto Storytelling Festival begins on March 28th, 2014, and kicks off two weeks of storytelling events in our City. If you are wondering what to do in Toronto that will spark your child’s imagination, check out the Toronto Storytelling Festival. The festival is celebrating its 36th year and is one of the largest storytelling festivals in North America. Encompassing over 40 events, taking place over seven days, and happening in a variety of venues all across the city. We’ve put together a list of the fabulous family friendly events that your kids will be sure to enjoy.

What to do in Toronto

Birds of a Feather – Purchase your tickets in advance for a dinner your family will not soon forget. The Windup Bird Cafe is hosting an evening of bird stories from India, China and the Caribbean. Tickets include a full farm-to-table meal, with kid friendly menu options.

Story Bop at the Bata Shoe Museum – The Bata Shoe Museum will host an interactive and musical storytelling hour for families. Children will enjoy combining folktales from around the world with dance and games.

In the Storytellers House – The historic Gladstone Hotel will be taken over for a day and evening of storytelling for families. The day will begin with “Storytelling and Muffins” in the ballroom. Children will enjoy stories from around the world being shared all day long in the magnificent ballroom.

Storytelling at the AGOAGO is hosting a unique storytelling event for francophone families in Toronto. Three excellent storytellers will be sharing stories, in French, from Haiti, Quebec and an imaginary county. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy storytelling en français.
